An Overview of Measles

A fever which is causes through paramyxovirus is known as measles. It is most common in children and rare in 6 months babies. It spreads when a diseased person sneezes or cough the virus may be spread easily to others, and infectes within 8 to 10 days.

Symptoms:

Sudden and high fever with body pains, Headache, conjunctivitis and vomiting sensation, Reddish and watery eyes, running nose.

Cold and cough will be irritating and throat infections,Rashes appear on the body around 3-4 days of the virus First rashes appears on the hair-line, tips of ears and cheeks, Photophobia, Koplic spots are mainly shown in the mouth.

Other Complications:

Puss in the ear, encephalitis may cause as a part of symptoms, Lung diseases like Bronchitis, Pneumonia occur.

Treatment Options: Measles cure by itself in 2 to 5 days. For fever and body pains take "paracetamol". For reddish eyes take "boric lotion - eye drops"

Measles Prevention:

Vaccine will be given to infants between 9 to 12 months to prevent measles. Once disease affected it won't effect again in life time. Lean foods and liquids must be taken more. Complete bed rest is necessary.
